The real magic in fairy tales is the way they resonate with the stories of our own. I tell these stories through anthropomorphic sculptures that are intimate, vivid, and magical.
From concept sketches, I sculpt these characters with wool using different needle felting techniques and infuse mixed materials to create surface details. Fascinated by stories behind found vintage objects, I often incorporated them into the narratives of my work. Some of these critters live inside tiny worlds, while others prefer to stand alone.
I am a fiber artist based in Saint Paul, Minnesota, where you can find amazing wool roving, beautiful lake trails, and very, very long winters.
